Pigs Love Potatoes has been chosen for the 2010 edition of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library!
In 1996, Dolly Parton launched a literacy program to benefit the children of her home county in east Tennessee in order to foster a love of reading among preschool children and their families. She wanted children to be excited about books and to feel the magic they can create—with the notion that every child would have books, regardless of their family's income.
So, she mailed a brand new, age appropriate book each month to every child under 5 in Sevier County.
Since that time, the program has grown exponentially, reaching 1200 communities and landing 25,000,000 books in the mailboxes of families throughout North America.
This is the third year running Pigs Love Potatoes has been chosen by Ms. Parton and her Imagination Library's book selection committee, and Chris and I are honored to be a part of such a wonderful, worthwhile program.

What's next for the picture book team of Denise-Denise?
I'm happy to report our next picture book is under contract. The Best Part Of Middle
will go into production sometime in late summer and as soon as we can share more details, we will!
Meanwhile, look for Bella And Stella Come Home in-stores at the end of November, and do check back to see where we'll be signing. Many of our events will be in New England -- but we have lots of extended family in various locations, so if you live along the eastern seaboard, there's a good chance we'll be coming to a bookstore, library or school near you!
And of course, the nice folks at our hometown bookstore, Barrington Books, always have some signed copies on hand that can be shipped most anywhere.
